“Back to…”

At this time of year, we often talk about going “back to.” Going back to school. Back to church. Back to a “normal schedule” following a summer of trips and travel. Teachers and administrators go back to work. Some of us are hoping the weather will go back to something…a little less HOT!

What about you? Your family? Are you going back to something specific? My family sure has a lot of “back to…” This week my daughters went back to school (in the 4th and 10th grades). This week, my younger son will move into a college dorm for the first time, going back to studies at a new school. In a few weeks, my older son will go back to school for his third year of undergraduate studies. For many families, our schedules go back to BUSY! Back to activities! Back to…you name it.

This Sunday, we are celebrating the end of the summer season and the start of all that comes next. Please join us as we BLESS OUR CHILDREN for a safe and productive year of school (by the way — don’t forget to bring your backpacks, briefcases, and bags). First Pres is a great place for children.

After our worship service, join us for an ICE CREAM COOL-OFF. Do you have a favorite homemade recipe? Bring it to share! If not, come and sample the offerings. First Pres is a great place for fun – you belong here!

Our Sunday School for children will kick-off in a few weeks and our classroom for youth is newly remodeled. Come take a peek! First Pres is a great place for youth to grow in faith. During our ice cream party, we will have a back drop for photo ops and even a polaroid photo lab so you can print your pics and take them home. First Pres is a great place to make memories. Please join us this Sunday, August 25 for all of this and more. Bring a friend. Invite a neighbor. First Pres is a great place to participate in a faith community.
